BIOME PARTICIPANT STUDY AGREEMENT

This Participant Study Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation in experiments posted on the BIOME platform. This Agreement supplements the BIOME Platform Terms of Service.

// SECTION_01 — PARTIES

This Agreement is between you ("Participant") and the Experimenter who posted the experiment you have applied for or been enrolled in. BIOME Technologies Private Limited ("BIOME") acts as a facilitating platform only and is not a party to the specific experiment contract.

// SECTION_02 — NATURE OF PARTICIPATION

2.1 Participation in any experiment on BIOME is entirely voluntary.

2.2 You may withdraw from an experiment at any time without penalty, except where you have already completed milestones for which payment obligations have been triggered.

2.3 Withdrawal after commencing an experiment may result in partial payout only, based on milestones completed at the time of withdrawal.

2.4 BIOME-Verified experiments have been reviewed for participant safety considerations. Non-verified experiments are listed at the Experimenter's sole responsibility.

// SECTION_03 — YOUR OBLIGATIONS

3.1 You must read the full experiment description before applying.

3.2 You must honestly assess and represent your eligibility for the experiment, including health conditions, demographic characteristics, and lifestyle factors.

3.3 You must follow the protocol as described, including:
    (a) Completing all required milestones within the stated timeframes;
    (b) Accurately self-reporting data where required;
    (c) Not engaging in prohibited activities (e.g., concurrent interventions that may confound results);
    (d) Attending any scheduled in-person or remote appointments as required.

3.4 You must not share your assigned pseudonym or participant identity with other participants in a way that compromises study integrity.

3.5 You must disclose any adverse effects or safety concerns to the Experimenter immediately.

// SECTION_04 — HEALTH AND SAFETY

4.1 You acknowledge that participation in biological, dietary, or physical experiments carries inherent risks that may not be fully foreseeable.

4.2 Before participating in any experiment involving physical interventions, dietary changes, supplements, medications, or biological sample collection, you should consult a qualified healthcare provider.

4.3 BIOME is not responsible for any health consequences arising from your participation in any experiment.

4.4 If you experience adverse effects during an experiment, you must stop participation and seek appropriate medical attention.

// SECTION_05 — DATA AND PRIVACY

5.1 Data you submit in connection with an experiment (including self-reported health data, survey responses, and biological measurements) will be shared with the Experimenter.

5.2 The Experimenter is responsible for handling your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

5.3 BIOME processes participant data in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

5.4 Your identity is pseudonymised on the BIOME platform. Your pseudonym is assigned at account creation and does not reveal your real identity to Experimenters unless you choose to disclose it.

5.5 You grant the Experimenter a licence to use anonymised or pseudonymised data derived from your participation for the stated purposes of the experiment.

// SECTION_06 — MILESTONES AND COMPLIANCE

6.1 Each experiment specifies a set of milestones that define participant obligations during the study period.

6.2 Your compliance score is calculated as: (completed milestones) ÷ (completed + missed + rejected milestones) × 100.

6.3 To be eligible for full bounty payout, you must meet or exceed the experiment's compliance threshold (typically 85%).

6.4 Partial payout may be offered for participants who complete some but not all milestones, at the Experimenter's discretion.

6.5 Milestones marked as "self-report" require you to actively submit your completion. The platform does not assume completion if you fail to submit.

// SECTION_07 — BOUNTY PAYMENT

7.1 Bounty payments are made by the Experimenter through the BIOME platform upon successful completion of the study protocol.

7.2 Payment timing depends on the Experimenter's payout schedule, typically within 14 days of study completion and compliance verification.

7.3 BIOME facilitates payment but does not guarantee payment in the event of Experimenter default. In such cases, BIOME will make reasonable efforts to assist with resolution.

7.4 Payments may be subject to taxes in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with applicable tax laws.

7.5 Disputes regarding bounty payments must be raised within 7 days of the disputed milestone decision using the BIOME dispute mechanism.

// SECTION_08 — DISPUTES

8.1 You have 3 free dispute submissions per participant account. Additional disputes incur a $10 USD fee payable to BIOME.

8.2 Disputes must be raised within 7 days of the milestone decision you are disputing.

8.3 BIOME will facilitate dispute resolution in good faith but cannot guarantee outcomes.

8.4 Final resolution authority rests with the Experimenter for factual questions about study completion; BIOME may intervene in cases of clear experimenter misconduct.

// SECTION_09 — CONDUCT AND TERMINATION

9.1 The Experimenter may remove you from a study for:
    (a) Failure to meet compliance threshold;
    (b) Falsification of data;
    (c) Violation of study protocol;
    (d) Any conduct that compromises study integrity.

9.2 Removal for cause forfeits any unpaid bounty amounts.

9.3 Removal without cause entitles you to pro-rated payment for completed milestones.

// SECTION_10 — GOVERNING LAW

10.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of India.

10.2 Any disputes not resolved through the platform dispute mechanism shall be subject to binding arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, as described in the BIOME Platform Terms of Service.

10.3 NO CLASS ACTION: You waive any right to participate in class action litigation arising from your participation in any experiment or use of the BIOME platform.

// SECTION_11 — ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By accepting this Agreement, you confirm that:
(a) You have read and understood the Agreement;
(b) You are voluntarily agreeing to participate in experiments on the BIOME platform;
(c) You meet the eligibility requirements for any experiment you apply to;
(d) You understand the risks, rights, and obligations described herein.
